1 cup long grain brown rice (organic if possible) 1/4 cup mixed beans (lentils, limas, garbanzo, etc.) 2 1/2 cups water
Add beans to water, bring to a boil, then turn down and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the water has been absorbed from the mixture. Remove from heat and add frozen corn and peas to your preference, usually about 1 cup of corn and 1/2 cup of peas will do, but your bird may enjoy more or less of these veggies. Let stand a while as the frozen vegetables cook a bit, probably about 10 or 15 minutes.

Add them to the mixture of beans and rice.*Sprinkle lightly with a good quality bird vitamin powder, acidophilus culture, and Spirulina and stir into mixture.Chop firm, lowfat tofu into bite-sized chunks and mix it in.
